Description:

Designed in Austin, Tx, the Lookfar by Fairdale sets the standard for reliable urban commuter bikes. The team at Fairdale keeps it simple in the name of reliability. The bike ditches front gears (after all, a front derailleur is just one more thing that can go wrong) and uses a single shifter for 8 gears in the back. And for most commuting in Austin, that’s more than enough. The Lookfar features a steel frame known for its comfort. Steel is more flexible and comfy than aluminum. The wider tires roll over pavement and gravel with ease, making it ideal for Austin’s roads and the hike-and-bike trail. The medium frame fits riders 5’7”-5’10” and is equipped with hardware for front and rear rack mounting. This particular bikes handlebars have been shortened a wee bit in the interest of greater maneuverability on crowded trails and UT bike lanes. The frame is the same as the legendary Fairdale Weekender with the biggest difference being the Lookfar uses rim brakes. Note: this bike was a UT grad school commuter and was chained to a bike rack every day. The “Fairdale” logo on the frame as well as some paint on the fork is scratched from the U lock. The bike rides and functions perfectly; the only damage is cosmetic.
