Description:

An original George Hunzinger armchair with reclining back and collapsible armrests (tables) and footrest. The chair is constructed of three George Hunzinger patents: chair, May 9, 1899, reclining chair, Feb. 27, 1906, and chair, Sept. 21, 1915. The chair has two collapsible armrests (tables)*, a collapsible footrest, and four reclining positions. The chair has three brass patent plates, original finish, brass casters, American cloth, and original stuffing. The armchair is illustrated on page 148, FIG. 176, Barry Harwood, “The Furniture of George Hunzinger,” Brooklyn Museum of Art. Dimensions: 43” height (upright), 25” width (arm to arm), 32” depth, 17” seat height, 18” footrest. Condition: the American cloth is torn and needs replacing and the armrests are scratched.
