Description:

1978 ELDDIS WHIRLWIND VINTAGE CAMPER FOR SALE. Super rare & unique model Made in England. The body is 13 ft. x 7 ft. wide by 7 ft tall dome shaped ceiling. It's only 1200 pounds towing weight. Any SUV can tow this. It tows like a gem. I bought it from the original owners who shipped it over from England in 1978. This little gem has an amazing floor layout with a bathroom. The dinette area with original table converts to a full bed. There are 2 bunkies for kids in excellent condition. There is a full kitchen galley with 2-burner propane stove and tiny grill for steaks. There's a sink as well. There is a good size closet, lots of cabinets for storage and a wrap around mantle. The camper frame, floor and roof was solid when we bought it and we towed it 300 miles with no issues after we put the new tires on it. However, it needed some upgrades. We bought 2 new tires ($600) with original moon hub caps, new propane tank and hoses all good and working ($100), 2 new European-style battery lites operated with NEW battery ($100). Installed a gently used radio/cassette with 2 speakers that runs on the battery ($50). ALL BRAND NEW UPHOLSTERY including privacy curtain ($1200). Brand new side jack professionally welded-in to last a long time and EZ PZ to hook-up and go ($300). We replaced all the wiring and upgraded to 110V. ALL electrical outlets work including a 2-plug outlet outside for a grill or whatever. We upgraded the towing lights 4-flat and they all work including signals, brakes, hazards. This camper has a manufactured built-in brake system that works amazing when hooked-up to towing lights. The original 70's style carpet is in good condition with minor issues. It just nees a good steam cleaning and it will look brand new. This camper has NO ODORS, NO SMELLS, NO MOLD OR MUSTY ODORS. The original owners told us that it has NEVER leaked because the dome roof is made so well. This camper is in totally functionable condition to camp or live in. However, it needs some work because it has some issues: 1) somebody tried to steal the camper by kicking the door in and it was left open in the spring for 1 until week until we got back. The side wall to the left of the door needs to be replaced. The wood needs to be removed, frame-in, insulation and panel. The size of the wall is 3 ft. by 6 ft. but the tin is in excellent condition and solid enough to tow. The other walls seems to be super solid with no issues. About 90% of the original wallpaper is in decent condition. However, the walls in the dinette area need all of the wallpaper replaced. Plumbing for the kitchen and bathroom sink is all in place, but needs new PVC pipes. Most of the exterior of the camper is good, but there's some separation at the front bottom of the camper. I'm told that a welder with corner plates will resolve this. Please note: the windows all work BUT they were NOT manufactured with screens. We put up screens with masking tape around them for now to keep the mosquitos out when we've been camping in it. We have priced it to sell $6500. IF we do the work noted then the price will go up. My boyfriend was going to do the work and is sick with Covid. He was no energy and I don't want it to sit here all summer. This camper will be worth anywhere between $9500 - $12,500 if you do the work and the minor upgrades. CLEAN OWNERSHIP.
