Description:

When our owner bought the truck from a seller in LA, he was especially attracted to the laser- straight body panels, the complete lack of any hint of rust and its wonderful vintage look. The vivid paint job has a matte finish and is not glossy like many cars. Combined with the wheels and tires and the exquisite chrome pieces, this 1941 Ford has a look that sets it apart from other trucks. There are other little gems of customization in and around this vintage pickup. They all add up to a very collectible, rare and interesting pre-war blue '41 Ford. With its unique medium-blue matte finish paint job, just the right amount of vivid red pin-striping and real fender skirts, our '41 Ford makes quite an impression. It rides low to the ground, is wearing vintage 1950s Cadillac wheel covers and period correct wide white wall tires. Custom touches can be found from front to back- like the taillights made from '38 Buick turn signal lamps, the Lincoln fender skirts that were carefully fitted to the fenders as well as flush-mount headlights from a 1938 commercial truck. Those shining, gleaming bumpers are new and they are adorned with small yet stylish decorative chrome pieces for a one of a kind look. The tonneau cover over the bed covers the gas filler neck which has been relocated to inside the bed. It's all real, original steel. The door handles came from a Studebaker. The original grill is intact, straight and in perfect condition. There is a hole in the middle where a crank was used to start the old flathead motor. That beautiful hood trim with its " FORD" script looks just like it did when it left the factory. Original all steel running boards flank the doors and the red "FORD" script on the tailgate completes the look. Our truck's interior is simple, original and has a couple of custom items. The red steering wheel and matching shifter knob are from a Lincoln. Pulling the handle on the floor activates the overdrive on the manual transmission. The red carpet is new and accents the steering wheel and the exterior pin-striping. The tree-on-the-tree manual shift is attached to the steering column. The speedo, clock, dash lights and gauges- none of them are operational. They all seem to be intact and original, but they are not working. The blue bench seat matches, it is original. A simple interior of medium blue trimmed with red, it matches the exterior color scheme perfectly. A 1957 Mercury donated its 312 cubic inch Y-block V-8 engine to the big '41 Ford. Fitted with a 4 barrel carb, the big Mercury motor runs very strong and has plenty of power to motivate the truck. A 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive handles the gear shifting. Original juice brakes work fine and air shocks have been installed in the rear. The front end is all stock and it all works fine. Vintage Cherry Bomb mufflers add to the old school sound of this super nice vintage truck. The rear end is a sturdy Chevrolet 10-bolt unit. The truck starts, runs, stops and drives as it should. Our owner has driven it 100s of miles with no problems reported. This car is being auctioned on a new classic car auction site.
