Description:
Beautiful 1972 tenor saxophone - Selmer Mark VI - All Original! Hard case with place for a clarinet and a flute. Two mouth pieces, two partial boxes of reeds (one box for jazz and one for concert). Purchased by the owner (seller) in 1972, over 50 years ago. The pads are still good, the sax plays smoothly and hits those high and low notes easily. The description says "excellent" condition because there was not a choice between good and excellent. It's better than good, and I'm told it's in excellent shape for being over 50 years old. There is some tarnish (see photos) but It has been stored for over 30 years... stored in climate controlled conditions. The horn has just had a tune-up. It's perfect. It was purchased new by the owner in 1972. See photos for serial number. It's not the most valuable serial numbers series, but it's definitely an antique and the quality…it just feels different…better than today's instruments. The metal feel like it is actually thicker and since it is in very good shape and plays beautifully it has been appraised at $7,500. And if the serial number was lower it would be worth $15K. It comes with two mouthpieces. It's a nice horn for a person who isn’t worried about the cost. It’s an antique Mark VI Tenor Sax…almost 52 years old. There is not a dent in it. Its got a beautiful finish. You would need to come to Mannford, Oklahoma to meet with me in person to examine the instrument, play it, hopefully buy it for $7500. That’s my price and I'm not in a hurry. Someone will love it. Thank you.
