Selling our Montis "Windy" easy wingback chair. Originally designed Gijs Papavoine in 1992 and reissued thereafter. Beautifully made in Holland by Montis. Upholstered in sumptuous soft and pebbly deep aubergine leather with matte finished steel legs. One of the most important and practical features of this armchair is the modest amount of space it occupies. But despite its compact structure, the high concave back guarantees comfort. The high seat base gives the armchair 'active' seating characteristics and makes it suitable for people with long legs or those who want to be able to stand up easily. With the attractive geometrical shape of wind-filled sails, this easy chair conjures up images of a tethered yacht. Gijs Papavoine studied at the institute of technology and Eindhoven Academy for Industrial Design in the product Design department. Gijs was employed as a Product Manager at Montis until 1990. In this capacity, he was jointly responsible for Montis' design philosophy. In 1990, Gijs was promoted to dedicated designer of Montis. Montis, a high-end manufacturer along the lines of others such as Ligne Roset, Roche Bobois, B&B Italia, Molteni, Poliform, stands out with unique color combinations and the use of various leathers.
