The boat is water ready, all current up to date registrations, which can be sea trialed most anytime , including the trailer for towing and both N.C. titled and in hand. I am posting in this location since the region is more familiar and friendly to classic style wooden boats. This is a fully custom built Simmons Sea Skiff cruiser. The design stems from a commercial net and fishing boat in North Carolina in the late 1940s. These boats evolved into pleasure craft and have been built from plans created in the late 1980s and built across the country and in some foreign countries like Australia. We built this boat for the expressed purpose of carrying small grandkids with safety in mind, with proper inside freeboard and seating for adults in tow. Its not for taking offshore. The entire boat is BS 1088 Meranti plywood. The bottom is semi self bailing with built in fuel tanks below deck. The under deck stringer system and inside the bottom is biaxal glass taped using epoxy resin and coated. There are two 18 gallon tanks with a selector valve to draw from depending on your intended range or loading. Both have fuel gauges that’s pretty accurate. The aluminum tanks are coated with Tile Clad Epoxy. There are duel batteries with combo battery switch and breakers. The entire boat's clear varnished wooden decking and raised coaming is book-matched from left to right side of the boat using all Honduras Mahogany, with solid teak inlays glued to a plywood substrate. The engine is a 90 hp. Yamaha. It has 107 hours on it. Its had the yearly service done, including the lower unit at the 100 hour mark. There is a Garmin 740 navigation system. All of the seating have custom cushions and all in new condition. The outside bottom is glassed up to the first lap and Ultra hard bottom paint. The waterline bottom paint is Red Mahogany Awlgrip paint, since the boat stayed on a boat lift during the summer. It has a full custom cover that's in new condition. We kept the cover on it while it was on the lift and not being used. The trailer is brand new 2019 tandem axle aluminum EZ Loader 20-23. Its only been in the water to load the boat and four additional day trips . The helm seats are fully custom painted solid mahogany with laminated solid teak pedestal foot rests. The pictures speak for themselves. It is stored in a completely enclosed shed for the winter and has been maintained each year. The hull is a custom color two part Awlgrip paint, which is now a stock custom color in the Awlgrip system. So if you wish to repaint or touch it up, you can order it in to a local paint dealer that sells Awlgrip paints. All of the varnish is Captains Varnish. The bow is set up for additional seating, with a fold up section that allows for two people to stand up too, if desired. The side seats have a cushioned back rest if you want to stretch out across the full side seats. The boat has a custom aluminum boarding ladder that stores under the back deck when not in use` Its designed to get back into the boat in shallow water, or it can be used in deep water with the matching steps that’s secured in the up position but unlatches and folds down and into the water. There is a built in hand grab on top for safety as you step in or out of the boat. The engine is mounted in an engine well under the back deck and has a self raising hatch that operates when you trim the engine up with the control handle. The engine is also further enclosed for additional silencing of engine noise by Sunbrella canvas, but zips up for service and inspection and ventilation when the cover is on the boat, secure by its own straps. The entire back bench is a seat, but lifts out to access the underside of the back deck. It has a portable and removable center support for the span and when you remove the bench, you can remove the free standing support too. There is a step box inside that doubles as dockline storage.
