Description:
This is a Briggs and Stratton vertical-shaft lawnmower engine designed and built for Homelite. It was originally installed on a Homelite mulching rotary mower. Featuring a top-mounted recoil starter, it is also equipped with a blade brake, which can instantly shut down the engine and stop the rotation of the lawnmower blade for the ultimate in safety. The blade brake is controlled by use of a “dead man” handle which must be held in the run position in order for the mower to operate. Please note: The subject handle was part of the original mower structure and, therefore, is not included in this offering. A facsimile handle could be easily reproduced, however, and mounted onto the handle of any other mower. This “Quantum Power” mower engine is easy to start and strong running. With a 1” diameter output shaft, it can be adapted to any mower housing that can accommodate the appropriate mounting bolt pattern and output shaft flange size. The length of the output shaft is approximately 2” when measured from the mounting base of the engine. The original mower blade attachment flange and bolt are also included with this sale.
