Antique 19th century continental 2-door raised panel armoire wardrobe

57ʺW × 19ʺD × 71.8ʺH Mid- to third-quarter 19th century wardrobe with shaped panels and decorative surface detail. Fantastic mellow patina appears original. Pinned construction throughout, so this well built cabinet remains sturdy and strong. Wardrobe may be closed with a turn of the key. Good condition overall with wear appropriate to age. Signs of wear include overall surface wear, interior and exterior wood splits, and faint number markings in a few interior spots, but the piece is structurally very sound and wear is only surface level. The interior has had a wooden closet rod professionally mounted to allow for hanging clothing storage. Please note interior depth of 15" may require clothing hangers to be turned to the side in order to fit, or for smaller size hangers to be used. There are 2 main shelf notches on the interior sides for shelves to rest, as well as several ridges near the top for shelves to rest. Available for pickup near Dupont Circle Important pick-up note: This is located on the 3rd floor apartment and will need to be carried down 3 flights of stairs to a basement level service entry. The staircase is extremely wide so space is not an issue, but this is a large and heavy piece so 3 professional movers are recommended. Doors can easily be removed to make it a bit lighter.
