Description:
This is an older Hesston 260 swather/windrower my parents bought from Washington state in the mid 1970s to cut and bale their alfalfa hay. They always called it a "swather" but it looks like it may have been officially referred to as a "windrower" by Hesston. This piece of equipment was at least 15 years old when my parents bought it, meaning it was probably built sometime between the mid 50s and early 60s. This was used in my parents' alfalfa fields throughout the 80s and we have since kept it as a decorative piece of yard art. Gets compliments all the time! It is a big, impressive piece of farming history would fit well in a collection of historical farm machinery. The right person might also be able to get this swather/windrower working again. Will consider offers and trades for pipe corrals, animal shelters, equipment, fencing, etc.
