Description:

This card is for adding up to 4 Nvme M.2 cards to your system for doing RAID or just for extra storage (or both!). You insert it into a PCIex16 slot in your motherboard, and by a built in process called "bifurcation" you can use the PCIe lanes attached to the slot in groups of 4 to support 4 separate M.2 drives, just as if they were 4 SATA drives attached to the motherboard. You will have to set it up in the BIOS and also install drivers (which should be available from your manufacturer's support page for the motherboard). If your motherboard is able to do "bifurcation" (a chipset function) you can do some very interesting things with this card. See info links below. Note: the card is Gen4, but it can also use Gen3 M.2s (with about half the speed of Gen4, of course). So if you already have a set of Gen3 NVMEs, you can use them and save $$$$$. (I like to play with tech, so I got this card and the 4 M.2s, and played with it for a couple of months, but I have no real need for it, so I am selling it to have cash for my next splurge, whatever it turns out to be). I will sell either the card itself only, for $60 CASH or the card with all 4 1TB Samsung 980 PRO PCIe Gen 4 cards for $325 CASH. Or the NVME cards for $75 CASH each. All of the M.2s have around 300 hours on them with about 2.5-3TB of reads and writes, so they are essentially new, since they are rated for about 600TB of writes ("TBW"). You can pick them up at my home in Newton (address under map). Or I will deliver whatever you buy within 25 miles of Newton for $10 extra.
