Building Surveyors required (Chicago area) Lasertech Floorplans Ltd. At LASERTECH® Floorplans, we have immediate openings for qualified building surveyors to join our team, as independent contractors. We will gladly entertain applications throughout the US, but we have a particular need in the greater Chicago area, servicing not only Illinois but throughout the mid West. Skills required include recent relevant experience in the preparation of as-builts, preferably with Leica laser measuring tools, knowledge and practical experience in both commercial and residential buildings, and a solid background with the Windows PC environment. Land surveying skills and experience would be beneficial as well, as these principles are built into our LTS software. Must be willing and able to travel, as the work can be anywhere within the US. We try to offer local work as much as possible, but you will be kept much busier if you are able to travel for 2-3 week stints at a time. Pay is based on the sq.ft. of the project and scope of work, and you would be advised of the pay for any particular project ahead of time. Expenses are covered and reimbursed immediately upon submittal of expense reports. We do not hold back until we are paid, we ensure our contractors are paid for their work immediately! The work involves learning and mastering our proprietary building survey software, the LASERTECH® Survey system (LTS), and would commence with a 2 week training program, at a mutually agreed upon location, and may involve more than 1 trainee per session (max. 3).
