We train and promote from within Excellent low-cost health benefits Retirement plan with employer-paid contributions Paid vacation and 10 holidays The Environmental Engineer will be focused on compliance assurance, process improvement, waste reduction, and efficiency throughout the Company’s facilities. This position works closely with Cogeneration Supervisors, Environmental/Safety Coordinators, and Division Managers. This position will be based in either Anderson, CA, Eugene, OR or Shelton, WA, to be determined during the interview process. About The Position • Create and provide training and technical support to managers and supervisors • Expand the environmental skills and knowledge of Environmental/Safety Coordinators • Establish monitoring, control, and reporting tools to assure compliance with regulations and permits • Assist mills with managing consultants and contractors performing environmental services • Review environmental compliance programs for air emissions, water discharges, and boiler ash use • Prepare and oversee contracts • Manage/execute environmental and energy projects as directed, which may include:      o Boiler combustion controls tuning or monitoring system upgrades      o Annual emissions source tests      o Stormwater system design and construction      o Reporting to agencies      o Assist remediation efforts at closed sites      o Prepare designs/work plans for identified projects • Conduct inspections/audits of pollution control equipment and related systems • Develop expertise in Federal, State, Local, and Company regulations and policy compliance assurance Qualifications • 3 or more years’ experience with industrial processes • Bachelor of Science in engineering or related field strongly preferred • Knowledge of EPA and State environmental regulations • Knowledge of air and water permits • Ability to work independently, analyze problems, and make decisions with minimal management intervention • Travel periodically with occasional extended time away from home • Proven commitment to safety and Company policy • Ability to manage multiple priorities under demanding circumstances • Understand quality assurance and process improvement techniques • Solid working knowledge of Word and Excel, and ability to learn various PC based reporting system applications Why Join Our Team? The general wage range for this position at Sierra Pacific Industries is from $70,000 to $105,000 per year, and is dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to: relevant work experience, skill, knowledge, and/or education.
