Please see our additional information and frequently asked questions below for details. ……………………...Additional Information and Frequently Asked Questions................................ Q: How do you raise your pigs? A: Our hogs are raised outdoors. We do not generally feed antibiotics or treat our pigs with any sub-therapeutic levels of medication. They are fed a diet consisting of corn, soybean meal, vitamins, and minerals, and whatever they choose to graze during the summer months. We don’t use gestation crates or house our animals in small confined spaces. Our pigs are allowed to move around, breathe fresh outdoor air, and spend time in the natural light. We think people should be able to raise their animals however they choose, we just prefer this method for our pigs and our family. Q: Can I get larger feeder pigs? A: Yes, in addition to our standard 25 lb pigs, we typically have feeder pigs and grower pigs available ranging from 25-300 lbs. Please inquire as to what we might have on hand or available for pre-order. We can also negotiate just about any size of animal you want. Q: Are your pigs castrated? A: Yes, all of our pigs are castrated before you receive them. Q: Do you vaccinate your feeder pigs? A: Yes, our pigs are vaccinated for Circovirus (PCV2), Erysipelas, Mycoplasma Pneumonia (M.hyo), and Illeitis, as well as dewormed. If you prefer your pigs not be vaccinated and/or dewormed, we’re happy to do that for you (orders must be prepaid for this option). Q: Have the pigs been started on feed? A: Yes, the pigs have been on feed for at least 4 weeks and have gone through a post-weaning conditioning period. They are no longer experiencing the stresses of weaning and are ready to be transported and started at their new home. Q: What breeds of feeder pigs do you have? A: Our feeder pigs include Hampshire, Yorkshire, and Duroc pigs, and crosses between those breeds. We will try to accommodate requests for certain breeds when we can, but we do not guarantee feeder pigs to be a certain breed. Q: What color are your pigs? A: We have everything from black to white to red and just about everything in between. If you have a color preference, let us know when you book your order. We will do what we can to accommodate your request. We cannot however, guarantee feeder pigs will be individual breeds or colors. Q: Will I get barrows or gilts with my feeder pig group? A: More often than not, you will get barrows. Occasionally gilts will be mixed in with some sets. We cannot guarantee the sex of feeder pigs ahead of time. If you are looking for gilts, we sell breeding gilts as well. See below for details. Q: Do you deliver? A: Yes, we are happy to deliver. Our standard delivery rate is $2.00/loaded mile, but we offer discounts for larger groups and flexible timing. For larger groups, we will also typically meet you halfway for no charge. Also, if you are flexible on delivery dates, we can often pair your delivery with that of other customers and charge you less that way. Please feel free to inquire about options. Q: What payment options do you accept?............. A: We accept cash, good check, credit/debit card, and Paypal. Q: I'm new to this, can you provide some guidance? A: Yes, we have been raising pigs outdoors for a long time, and are happy to help you out. We take pride in providing our customers with timely and relevant support after their purchase. Do you sell anything other than feeder pigs? We do. Below is a partial list: Breeding Gilts: We offer a limited number of breeding gilts for sale throughout the year. These gilts have been bred to perform well in our climate, and we’ve selected them for generations to do well in outdoor and low-maintenance settings. Our breeding gilts can get popular and are often sold out. We’ll do our best to fill your order when you need it, but please order gilts as early as possible. Prices vary by breed, quantity, and how soon you need them. Generally open gilts are $400-$500 and bred gilts are $1,000-$1,250. If you’re new to breeding pigs, we recommend trying a bred gilt first and we’ll help ease you into it. Our bred gilts come with exact due dates, and typically farrow between 7 and 14 pigs in their first litter. Our bred gilts come with a 7-pig guarantee. As a bonus... we'll help you get your gilt bred back the next time around after she farrows. Boars: We sell boars for breeding. Prices depend on breed and timing, but are generally $500 - $750 for mature boars that are ready to breed. These boars have been checked for semen quality and come with a breeding guarantee. We also sell immature boars that range in size from 30 to 150 lbs. These boars are priced at $350 - $450, but do not come with a breeding guarantee, as we cannot check anatomy or semen at this age. Market Hogs: We sell market hogs that can be picked up or delivered. See above list for current prices. These can be picked up or delivered to one of the processors in the area. Check with us for scheduled processing dates, or we can deliver to your processor as well. If you've read this far, please don't hesitate to give us a call or text with any questions. We're happy to help you with any swine-related needs or questions you may have. We have been raising pigs in outdoor settings for more than 25 years. We're happy to use our experience to help.
