Description:
This is a tobacco sunburst ES125 in excellent condition. I have dated it between 1950 and 1953 based on the fact that it is pre-serial # and before they used the orange tags inside the body. It has been gone over thoroughly, frets dressed (ZERO dents or wear) , no divots in fingerboard, set up with low action (flatwound 12-52's), by Salvador Giardino (check out his credentials at the link below) in New Orleans approximately four years ago. There is the expected (and quite beautiful) finish checking for an instrument of this age. There are NO cracks on neck, soundboard or body, just minor nicks. There are two spots on the upper bout face and back where the finish had worn down to the wood - those have been repaired by application of new finish but not sanded down to bare wood, so the original wear is visible. The neck has been French polished as used on violins and is silky smooth with no divots, dents or spots that drag. The tuners are not original but have been replaced with period appropriate ones. Hardware is fully functional and Sal re-wound the P90 dogear pickup by hand and replaced the wiring harness and caps (not sure if the pots are original). I will include the Gibson volume/tone knobs, I just thought the custom ones look better. This is a guitar which clearly shows its age and wear, but has been carefully restored to be a daily player that you can confidently gig with. Also includes a new charcoal-colored hardshell Roadrunner locking case with plush grey interior. http://salvadorgiardina.com/index.html Thanks, Stephen Gibson es Gibson ES Gibson ES175 Gibson es175 Gibson ES 175 Gibson es 175 Gibson L5 Gibson Super 400 Gibson ES 330 Gibson ES 330 Jazz Gibson Archtop Gibson archtop hollowbody Gibson hollowbody hollow Gibson es 125 Gibson ES 125
