Hello Everyone, We’re looking for a serious professional or graduate student for a September 1st move in. It's a large 5 BR modern house with four busy 30 somethings. We are looking for someone who can communicate well, has some emotional intelligence, and is easy to live with (i.e. light footprint in the house). Bonus for someone with a good sense of humor. Some of us like ‘Seinfeld,’ ‘The Simpsons,’ ‘Monty Python,’ ‘Family Guy... We have our own lives and schedules but talk openly and occasionally will hang out: watch sports, a movie, or have a game night. Everyone does their part when it comes to household chores: one person takes out the garbage, another buys household supplies (trash bags, dish pods, etc.), another pays the bills, etc. The rest is typical stuff: someone who is considerate of their roommates and people in general, no live-in girlfriend / boyfriend, cleans up after themselves, and is quiet in the evening (some of us are on early morning schedules). No pets (per the landlord), smoking (tobacco), drugs, or firearms. Must be able to pass a credit and background check (per the landlord). You’d be signing a year lease that would run from September 1st 2023 to August 31, 2024. This is non-negotiable. Rent is an absolute steal at $900. These rooms could easily cost $1,100 or more. You only need first and last to move in ($1,800). Utilities and the internet are split five ways. We use Splitwise/Venmo to settle with no hassle. Total monthly utility cost around $120. If for some reason, you need to move out and break the lease you are only required to find a replacement and provide a couple months’ notice to the roommates. Minimal risk on your end! This is a terrific location if you want access to Cambridge, Somerville, the Redline, and Harvard and Davis Square. We are a 3 min walk to the Redline Porter Square T stop and a 4-minute walk or less from everything Porter Square has to offer (Star Market, CVS, Target, Anna’s Taqueria, Panera Bread, etc.). Spacious bedroom with lots of natural light. Room is un-furnished. Hardwood floors throughout the apartment. Eat-in kitchen with table, dishwasher, ample counter space, and walk-in pantry. Large living room with a massive Smart TV (Netflix, Amazon, etc.), L-Shaped couch, and coffee table. Coin Laundry in the apartment. The landlord will get you quarters if you ask. Driveway parking (landlord discussed) or street permit parking costs around $40/year. Terrific and responsive landlord who manages more than 80 properties and has an office right next door to us.
