Rare 100 % SOLID WOOD MID CENTURY TALL DRESSER *MASTERFULLY RESTORED*

This piece was made in 1959 by Dillingham Furniture and the line is Samara. What makes this rare and sought after is the fact it's made from 100 percent solid wood construction versus veneers that 98 percent of all mid century furniture is made with. I have included pictures of the joinery and love how American black walnut was inserted into the fruit wood planks. Also this is a 6 drawer dresser versus the standard 4 or 5 so it was more labor intense to construct. One of the drawers has dividers for small items or can be taken out if preferred. The dresser measures 38" W X 43 1/2" H X 18 1/2" D. The restoration included sanding down every nook and cranny over again through many sand paper grits. Then using a light coat of teak of stain and three coats hand brushed coats of natural, oil based, polyurethane which is the most durable finish and will not ring if a cup is placed on top like lacquer will. Unfortunately, most massed produced furniture, even high-end, is sprayed with lacquer because of it's 10 minute dry time and easily manageable from a spray gun. Sadly it breaks down within a couple years and crackles and rings as we have all seen before. The piece was also sanded between each of the three hand brushed coats to create a smooth, satin sheen finish. Of course no brush marks are present. I have 15 years expierence and have done hundreds of dressers and pride myself on the restoration process by finishing them like they were my own.
