Description:

OUTDOOR EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR Are you looking for the experience of a lifetime in a beautiful surrounding? If you enjoy being in the Outdoors and teaching fifth and sixth graders about their natural surroundings then look no further, you have found the right place. Pathways to Learning’s (PTL) Outdoor STEM-Centered Education (OSCE) programs are in session from August-May and serves well over 5,000 elementary students per year. The students come to the residential camp for a 3-5 day camp experience. Program Instructors are the backbone of our program. Living for FREE in one of our cabins shared with your fellow instructors, you will get the opportunity to teach a wide variety of classes such as Stream and Pond Ecology, Crayfish Engineering, or help students create a Solar-powered Amusement Park ride or a Solar Oven, to name a few. In addition, our camps have the traditional camp activities, such as archery, low and high ropes, swimming and kayaking, star-gazing and astronomy, and miles and miles of trails! When not conducting our OSCE programs, we serve numerous other diverse clients throughout the year, including trauma affected youth, foster families, sports camps, summer camps, and even church and corporate groups. PTL operates Arizona’s two iconic, year-round, residential camps: 5000-acre Chauncey Ranch outside of historic Prescott, and Camp Tontozona (home of Arizona State University’s fall football training camp), nestled in Payson's Tonto National Forest. In addition to our site-based programs, you might help teach our “Mobile STEM Discovery Lab” (MSDL), bringing outdoor education directly to schools around the state. You’ll receive training in Experiential Education/Facilitation, STEM modules, and Trauma Informed Care/Adverse Childhood Experiences. Get paid to obtain additional certifications: First Aid/CPR, Lifeguard, NASP archery, ACCT challenge course, & more! In your off-hours, you can hike the Red Rocks of Sedona, paddle Watson Lake, explore Phoenix, or marvel at the Grand Canyon - all easy drives from camp. This is a part-time position. Performing staff may be eligible for full-time, year-round employment. Hours vary based on seasonality, schedule, and needs. Housing provided at camp, food provided when camps are in session. Pay: $150 to 165 per day, depending on experience and certifications. Change lives thru Outdoor Learning - APPLY NOW! Website: https://forms.gle/eN8Mpn7fLd82jb6G9
