However, after receiving my Big Tool Rack (BTR) I felt compelled to do so. I’d also like to note that unlike so many other vendors these days who ask you for positive feedback for buying the most trivial thing, the vendor/creator/manufacturer of the BTR never did.The BTR comes in a wooden crate weighing someone over 300 pounds. Upon opening the crate the first thing I saw was the instruction manual. This instruction manual should serve as the gold standard for instruction manuals everywhere: it is printed in large tape, comes in a color booklet format, is clear and logically stepwise, and illustrated throughout with photographs. It’s probably the best instruction manual I’ve ever seen in my 62 years on this planet. All of the components are exceedingly and thoughtfully very well packaged and labeled. There is absolutely no room for ambiguity or confusion.The BTR itself is made of extremely heavy gauge steel. This is not some cheap garden implements that will dent after its first or second use; the design of the BTR including its assembly shows great thought and intelligence. All of the parts except for the side rails are flawlessly powder coated. The side rails appear to be in a baked color finish similar to that of an automobile. The quality of everything is clear evidence that this product was designed and built with extreme pride, care, and attention to detail. Every single part fit together flawlessly. The tolerances are machine grade. Every hole lines up perfectly, every slot and tab is exact, and the BTR assembles without struggle or great effort. Even with a bad back it took me only slightly over an hour to assemble the entire unit.The BTR is exactly what I have been looking for: it is a tool carrier for a three point hitch which allows for the transportation of every tool you could possibly imagine. I live in Central Maine auto great deal of my time is spent on forestry, and I am able to carry several chainsaws, a pole saw, equipment with which to throw lines, hand tools, shovels, hand saws, root busters, fuel, and the list goes on. The BTR answers the need for a very specific problem, namely that of being able to carry tools without having to resort to a separate trailer while using a tractor. This is invaluable for forestry, since a trailer is sometimes a challenge to use in the woods. The BTR is a back saving, time-saving, beautifully made piece of equipment which does exactly what it was intended to do. Its presentation on the website does not even begin to do it justice.For those of us old enough to remember, the BTR is a throwback to the days where American pride in the quality of workmanship and products was the rule rather than the exception. Sadly, most of us these days are used to the badly made garbage spewed out by corporations looking to cut every possible corner while maximizing their bottom line no matter what the cost to the user or consumer. The BTR is the antithesis of factory generated corporate garbage. The pride that has gone into its design and construction is clearly evident; it speaks as a landmark forwhy American ingenuity and craftsmanship belong in the hands of individuals and small companies, and not those of greedy, soulless mega corporations.I initially hesitated purchasing the BTR because I thought the price was a little bit on the high side. Having bought, assembled, and used one I would now argue that perhaps the price was a little bit on the low side. This is one of the best made products I have run into in decades, and its value also lies in the amount of effort it saves to both load and carry tools and fuel anywhere my tractor can go.
